Welcome in the crisp days of fall as we feature soloist, Denise Dillenbeck who will perform Dvorak's Violin Concerto. Our program will also include Price's adoration, Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1, and Copland's Four Dance Episodes from "Rodeo."

Bring the family to hear festive holiday music performed by the Orchestra and Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School Concert Chorale. The Concert Chorale is under the direction of Gordon Kaslusky. Twas the Night Before Christmas will be narrated by Brett Thackara, meteorologist on ABC 27 Daybreak, News at Noon, and one of the co-hosts of Good Day PA on ABC 27.

The brilliant trumpet of Nathan Clark will be featured in this concert performing the Arutunian’s Trumpet Concerto. Trumpeter Nathan Clark joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in October 2019. Mr. Clark began his musical instruction on piano at age 6 and trumpet at age 9. In 1998 he graduated from Susquehannock High School in Glen Rock, PA. In 2001 he joined the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. While in the Air Force, he performed with the concert band until 2006 and then served as part of the ceremonial brass until 2019. Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Mr. Clark also performed frequently as a substitute for numerous Washington-area ensembles, including the National Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic, and Washington National Opera. The program will also include: Khachaturian’s Adagio from “Spartacus” and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 6. This concert will take the winter chill off with the warmth of the music.

The orchestral program will feature the music of Johann Strauss Jr., the Waltz King, during an evening celebration.

Featured Soloists for the 2022-2023 Season
Our October concert will feature violinist Denise Dillenbeck, who has toured Europe and America with the Philadelphia Orchestra, was a member of the Oregon Symphony, and has played with the Seattle Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Pennsylvania Ballet Theater, Philly Pops, and others. She was a soloist with the American Festival Orchestra on a tour of China. Currently concertmaster of the Yakima Symphony, York Symphony and the Northwest Sinfonietta, she was associate concertmaster of the Tacoma Symphony, and has served as concertmaster for orchestras in America, England and Germany.
